We had asked Stuart Edmunds from Lowestoft RNLI along to collect a cheque for the amount of £600, which is the total the Branch raised during 2018/19. Unfortunately due to work commitments, Stuart was unable to attend, so we will be rescheduling the cheque presentation for early in 2020.
As it was our Annual General Meeting we had the election of the Committee. The posts of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer remain the same, but we have added to the Committee. We welcome Carolyn Hancock as our new Vice-Chairman.
The post of Events organiser was scrapped, as most of the Committee take turns in organising events. So Brian Lloyd was voted back on as a Committee member and we welcome Nigel Baker-Querelle and Chris Mitchell as fellow Committee members. Tricia Loades now starts her 35th year as Secretary. Our Treasurer Jacky Lloyd reported that our accounts are healthy going forward into 2020.
We discussed lots of events to attend in our 40th year and Chairman Mary Huggins thanked members for all their help towards fund-raising for the Lowestoft RNLI and attending all our events we had during 2019. A Football Card held was won by Mary Stannard, who donated her £10 winnings back to the charity fund. So thanks Mary.
