We had a good turn out of members despite the very wet weather and floods in Norfolk and Suffolk. We had invited Hilary and Valerie from Upbeat to collect our cheque for our charity amount we raised this year. They were both surprised at how much we had raised. A very impressive £600. Hilary is the Secretary and Fund-raiser for Upbeat and Valerie is the Treasurer and Membership Secretary. One of our members is actually a member of Upbeat too. We held a photo shoot with Hilary and Valerie with members when we presented them with our big cheque.
After the photo shoot we held our usual meeting where we gave members details of the events that had come in for 2024. They are now going to have to go away and decide which ones they would want to go to. Our Secretary Tricia said we should give ourselves a round of applause for the really good amount we had raised this year for Upbeat.
After the meeting we held a raffle which raised £71. So thank you to members who brought along a raffle prize. With £30-72 from the refreshments and £10 from a donation from Amanda Hazlett (thanks Amanda) we raised a further £111-72 for our next charity The National Coastwatch and we have a speaker coming from them next month.
