We held a joint picnic with our friends from the Essex Branch at Kersey Mill, Suffolk on 15th May. There were a total of 23 cars; 22 Minors and I Rover. Not Branch member Norman this time, but a member from Essex Branch. There were 15 cars from our Branch with Essex members bringing 9. With Maria being a member of both Branches.
The start of the picnic was sunny, but as can be seen from the photos we had rain while we ate our lunch, but that didn’t keep us from enjoying ourselves. Both our Branches celebrated 40 years in 2020, but couldn’t celebrate because of Covid-19, so Essex Branch newsletter editor, Angela Ife, gave a toast to both branches.
We held a raffle and tickets were drawn by both Branch Chairmen, Carolyn and Gary from Essex Branch. We raised a total of £84 which was divided between branches.
Andrew and Jane from our Branch were pleased to see the Minor they got married in a few years ago, brought to the picnic by Steve from Essex Branch. There was a photo opportunity so they could recreate the photo from their wedding day. We all had a very good day rounded off by a visit to Kersey Mill and the shops. Hopefully we can do something like this with Essex Branch again next year.
