On 30th April 2019 Debbie Gibbs and her partner along with her two dogs left Devon for a trip around the British coastline, ending back at Devon on 22nd May. Debbie was to undertake an epic adventure in her Morris Minor convertible, Grace over the next three weeks, raising money for Cancer Research UK. She would be travelling were possible on coast roads and on Day 15 Debbie, etc., would be leaving Grimsby and ending the day at Great Yarmouth. Along the route car owners were invited to join Debbie on the trip for as long as they liked.
Our Branch decided to meet up with Debbie at Great Yarmouth when she would be arriving at the Jetty South Car Park, Marine Parade. Debbie had told us that she would be there at around 5pm, but it was actually 7pm when she arrived with an entourage of four vehicles, two of which were Morris Minors.
Four Branch cars had gathered at Great Yarmouth for 5pm, some having driven from Ipswich to meet and greet Debbie. So after a tea of fish and chips three cars went home and left Branch Secretary, Tricia and her husband Jimmy in their Million to wait for Debbie to arrive. Thank you Martin, John and Ann and Nigel for taking the time to travel to Great Yarmouth.
One of the Morris Minors that arrived in convoy was driven by Sue Lissimore from the Essex Branch. Sue and her friend had driven to Grimsby from Essex and travelled for two days with Debbie and her convertible Grace, ending at Southend-on-Sea. So far Debbie has raised over £9000 for Cancer Research UK and we admire her courage to take on such a journey.
