This year we were invited to join the Essex and Suffolk Borders Region of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club at their Show at Rickinghall Village Hall. There were other Regions of the Jaguar Club there along with other Car Clubs including the MG Owners Club and Bury Mini Club.
We had our own stand with seven cars which was down from twelve as some members couldn’t attend for one reason or another. The weather wasn’t too bad although a little cold, there was only a small amount of rain.
We started off selling our charity squares and the theme this time was makes of cars, with a 100 cars to choose. Jacky and Tricia made a good start selling them and Chris and Jimmy managed to fill the whole 100 when they took them into the Village Hall, catching people as they went to look at the craft stalls. So well done to you two.
We were able to add another £80 to our fund-raising total for Lowestoft RNLI. The winner was Bob Welton, one of the organisers, and he received £20, well done Bob. There was a prize for the “Car I would most like to take home” and surprisingly this was won by a small white Fiat and not a Jaguar.
We met up with two past members, one of whom had their Jaguar on the field and we also signed up a new member. Tricia won two prizes on the raffle, so in all we had a good day!
