12 vehicles were booked in to this event, but only nine made it on the day. We did however add one more in the shape of Paul, who was also on the field, but not parked with us. There was a presence from the Northants Branch across the field from us and at Weybourne Station the North Norfolk Branch had their usual pitch. So, we had ten, Northants had 8 and North Norfolk had 20, so a good turn out of Minors from the Branches.

Members took advantage of a free ticket for drivers and discounted tickets for passengers and had a ride on either a steam or diesel locomotive from Holt, to Weybourne and then on to Sheringham. A group of us went by diesel train to look at the display at Weybourne Station by the North Norfolk Branch and then took a steam train ride to Sheringham where we had lunch. The Sheringham Carnival was also taking place that day and there were lots of Morris dancers around the town.

Travelling back to Sheringham, some of us were on the steam train and because of the very dry and hot weather of late the track side caught fire after we passed and caused a cancellation of trains for the day. Those that were travelling on the diesel train behind us didn’t leave Sheringham station and had to be bussed back to Holt. A very enjoyable day was had by all with a very long drive home by Maria from Essex.
