This was our first time having a breakfast meeting for the Branch. Mary Huggins very kindly organised the day for us. We started at Morrison’s car park at Beccles where nine Morris Minors met up and then we went on a short drive to Club Virage, a cafe at Beccles Aerodrome. Here 20 members enjoyed a full English breakfast in all shapes and forms. Either a vegetarian version or with extra or with something taken off. The tables were made from old aircraft wings and there was lots of memorabilia of old aeroplanes in the giant teepee where the tables were laid out.
Then we were off on the next stage of the day to the East Anglian Transport Museum at Carlton Colville where another member met us with their car. The weather was slightly damp, but that didn’t deter us and stopped when we travelled home.
We all parked together within the Museum grounds and we could enjoy looking round the various old shops, buildings with old vehicles and trams or visiting the gift shop. We could also take a trip on either two electric trams or an electric bus or the train. Some of us had a ride on all four! We rounded off the day with a visit to the cafe for cup of tea and a slice of cake. We thank Mary for organising the meeting and we may repeat this next year.
