13th July 2023 - Classics on the Green, Friston

A small group of members attended the Classics of the Green at Friston near Saxmundham. We started with a meal at the Chequers pub before driving to the green where there were lots of vehicles already gathered. The event is an annual get together of classic cars and motor bikes with a couple of steam driven traction engines which is organised by locals for the friends of the church who benefitted from the event.

There were around 300 classic and vintage cars with military vehicles covering the history of world car production until the early eighties. Other facilities included a barbecue, tea room and bar and although the weather was overcast it did stay dry for us all afternoon. There were seven other Morris Minors of different kinds on the field too; the most represented car at the event.
