We had a lot of apologies from members, but despite this we had a good turn out from other Branch members. Our Chairman Mary Huggins was stepping down, and was unable to attend the AGM, but sent this message:-
“It has been a very strange couple of years, but thank goodness we have all come through it. I hope next year will be more normal. I don’t think we are through the woods just yet. So, we still have to take care of our own safety. Thank you to Tricia and Jacky for their support. Tricia is a very busy lady, but always managed to get the newsletter out, keeping us up to date with everything that is going on in the branch and further afield. We haven’t had many indoor meetings but Jimmy and Chris are always there with the tea brewing – thank you. I know several of our members have been working on the restoration of their cars and shared their progress with us through the newsletter. It has been interesting following their progress. I am sure it has been enjoyed by many. Thank you for the contributrions.
I feel it is time for me to step down as your chairperson this year. I would like to say a big thank you to you all for your patience with me”. Mary.
We thank Mary for being our Chairman over the past few years and are glad that she will be part of the Committee. Carolyn Hancock oversaw the meeting.
Our Treasurer Jacky handed members a copy of the accounts for the Branch and we have a very healthy bank balance. We all agreed that in view of this our yearly subscription will stay at £8.
Our Committee was then voted in. Chairman:-Carolyn Hancock. The position of Vice-Chairman was scrapped, as there were no takers for this position. Secretary: Tricia Loades. Tricia is now starting her 37th year as Secretary. Treasurer: Jacky Lloyd. Committee members: Brian Lloyd, Chris Mitchell and Mary Huggins. Refreshment organisers: Chris Mitchell and Jimmy Loades.
We will keep the Park View Chapel, Botesdale as our meeting place and the third Sunday of the month the date. We have lots of events coming up in 2022.
We held a Football card for fund-raising and the winner was Len Oram who won £10. £30 was raised for East Coast Truckers and a further £9-90 was added from the refreshments.
