Events at a Glance
Below are a list of events Iceni Minors will be organising and/or attending in 2024. Check the events calendar for current information and entry forms.
21st April – Drive It Day. Matthew and Claire Ling have kindly volunteered to organise a run for us in East Suffolk. We meet at Notcutts, Woodbridge at 10-15am, leaving at 10-30am on a 30 mile run around the Suffolk countryside. We stop along the way and end up where we can have a picnic, eat at a cafe or have a meal at a pub. The end destination is a mystery!
5th May – Ipswich to Felixstowe Run. We have nine members vehicles booked into the run from Christchurch Park. They will be meeting up at 9-30am at Asda Supermarket car park so they can travel together. They should be on the same route to Felixstowe seafront.
19th May – Branch picnic with Essex Branch, Galleywood Heritage Centre. Some members should be joining the Essex Branch from 12pm onwards.
19th May – Rickinghall Car Show and Craft Fair. We have been invited to the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Essex and Suffolk Borders Region, to their car show and craft fair at Rickinghall Village Hall, Hinderclay Road, Rickinghall, IP22 1HD from 10am to 4pm. For those members who said it is a bit too far for them to go to Essex we are arranging a Club stand if they want to attend.
27th May Bank Holiday Monday – Visit to Saxtead Mill. One of our members family owns the mill and they are raising money for the village speed signs. We are to park outside the Old Mill Pub where we will be having a meal. Some members can have a tour of the Mill it they are there early enough.
29th and 30th June – MMOC National Rally, British Motor Museum, Gaydon. Some members are booked into attend this event and will be having a themed stand on Branch Avenue.
7th July – North Norfolk Railway Vintage Transport Event, Holt. We again this year are organising a space on the event field at Holt for members to attend this popular event. If you want to join us then you will need to fill in an entry form. Contact Tricia. Closing dale is 27th May.
18th August – Classic Car Rally, Stonham Barns. Members always like to attend this event and we will be having a club stand. You will need to let us know your name, vehicle details and year of car to add your name to the club entry form.
September – Breakfast meet. We are again going to have a breakfast at Cafe Virage, Ellough Aerodrome near Beccles. Then on to a place in the afternoon. Details and date will be known later.
There are lots of other events we will be attending and they will be added as and when.
Charity Update
In 2023/24 we fund raised for Upbeat, a heart charity in West Suffolk and our members raised the brilliant amount of £600. At our February meeting we presented Hilary and Valerie from Upbeat with our cheque. During 2023 our members also raised £80 for Marie Curie and £68 for Granary Crafts at Buxhall. A total of £748 so well done to all our members who took part.
In 2024/25 we will fund raise for The National Coastwatch. So far we have £174-23.
Charities We Support
During the 44 years of the Club we have raised over £20,000 through events such as auto jumbles, draws, etc.
