When we had a Branch stand at Journey Through The Ages – Vintage Rally and Country Fair on 21st June, we had a very good turnout with ten cars being displayed. This being our first time at this Rally. The event, which is held at Goodrich Park, Palgrave, Suffolk, has everything from tractor pulls to craft stalls, to ring displays. There is something there to keep you entertained all the day.

This time the weather was mixed, with rain on the way there, but sunshine and wind throughout the day. The event was very well attended by the public as well as cars, tractors and lorries.

We were fortunate to be beside the ring and were able to watch the various entertainment going on during the day, which included lorries, steam engines and falconry displays. You could even guess how may balloons were in the cab of a combine harvester if you so wished.

Again at this rally we saw the Military Traveller. There was even a display by a Mustang aeroplane courtesy of Maurice Hammond.

As this event fell on Fathers Day all the men attending received a tin of beer (we had to be fair!). We would like to thank Chris, Brian and Jacky, Mary and Terry, Penny, Dick and Wendy, Terry and his daughter Victoria, Tricia and Jimmy and Michael for bringing their vehicles for display. Penny was also there with her living van and her partner Angus’s tractor. We had two Pick-ups, four 1000 Saloons, a Series II Saloon, two Travellers and a Million.

We even had some new members join on the day. We welcome Michael and Mary to the Branch.
