Fourteen cars from the Branch travelled to Holt Station for the North Norfolk Vintage Transport Event. During the day the “Poppy Line” were running two steam trains and two diesel locomotives from Holt to Weybourne and Sheringham stations.
It was a beautiful day with lots of vehicles to look at, at Holt station where we were parked as a group, right next to the Northants Branch whose members had made a weekend of the event. Being an exhibitor we were kindly given a free pass to travel on the train and all members took advantage of this. Vintage bus rides were also available to Cromer or Sheringham too.
At Weybourne station the North Norfolk Branch had their own display which has been something of a tradition for a number of years. Some of our members walked along the Weybourne cliffs to Sheringham from here.
We all travelled into Sheringham whether to see a flower festival in the church, the infamous “sink hole” or just to see what shops there were in the town. There was also a festival for Morris Dancers and plenty of people were dressed in the part. All members thoroughly enjoyed the day and we hope to go again next year.
