This time we had nine vehicles turn out for our stand at the Cricket Ground, Lavenham. The cars were arranged in a circle with the Cricket pitch in the middle, overlooked by the parish church.

We were between the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiast’s Club and the East Coast Mini Club. The SVEC were making a grand day of the event with a picnic complete with wine and Pavlova. We were in very fine company at the event with the likes of the Daimler and Lanchester Owners Club, the Stag Owners Club and the Morgan Sports Car Club. There was also some steam cars on the field.

We could hear the carnival make it’s way to the site at around 12pm with all the music and singing. There was a Big Top with Zumba demonstrations and the singer Garden Veranda. She was very entertaining.

Unfortunately this event was again marred with rain. Not as much as last year, but enough to see some cars driven home a bit earlier than usual. We raised another £11-60 for our funds for Marie Curie.

Chris Mitchell brought along his models that he had made to look like a scrap yard. This was very popular with the children.
