We held our Branch picnic this year at the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbotts. Thirteen vehicles came along to support the picnic and we managed to park red, white and blue Travellers outside the main control tower (this was not intentional!).
Unfortunately we couldn’t have our picnic outside because it was too windy, so we had it inside one of the Museum buildings. We also held a raffle that raised £53 which we donated to the Museum for letting us hold our picnic there. Thank you to all those that brought a prize.
The visit to the Museum ended three visits to Memorial Museums this year, which was our commemoration of 100 years since the ending of World War One. After a look around the other buildings housing mementos from the time of the American soldiers stationed at Thorpe Abbotts, we made our way home as it started to rain.
